how to differentiate 3A and 4A?
This is the hackneyed question for the clients.
Due to the appearance of 3A and 4A is the same, but the technical is quite different, and the price of 3A is higher than 4A. So some clients care that if someone will give them 4A product but in the price of 3A.
In fact, there is only one method to judge 3A and 4A. That is energy spectroscopy in the lab.
The theory: 3A is made from 4A, we use K+ to exchange Na- in 4A product, often the ratio of exchange is from 45% to 75%. So there is no K+ in the 4A product, but 3A product has K+ and Na- at the same time.
The other judge method, for example, the water temperature-rise, the methanol temperature-rise, or nitrogen gas are not exact.
